Benalla Gliding Club, Benalla
GCV is the oldest continuously-operating gliding club in the Southern Hemisphere, having started flying in 1929 and operated continuously at Benalla since 1952. It is also the largest club in Australia with more than 230 members. It is located at the Benalla airport, 200km North-East of Melbourne in the state of Victoria. Pilots from all over Australia and the world come to Benalla to soar the skies. Benalla will see over 100 pilots, the world’s best, come to Benalla January 2017 for the World Gliding Championships. The sight of 100+ gliders circling the skies over Benalla will be one not to be missed.
